Health Budget in the 2026 RAPBN Reaches 244T, What is it for?

The Indonesian government is taking a strategic step by allocating a health budget of Rp244 trillion in the 2025 APBN (State Budget). This large fund demonstrates the government's strong commitment to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), with a focus on several main pillars, namely improving services, strengthening prevention programs, equitable access, developing human resources (HR), and modernizing the health system. This strategy is designed to create a resilient health system that is accessible to all levels of society.
Most of the budget, amounting to Rp69 trillion, is allocated for JKN (National Health Insurance) premium subsidies for the poor and workers. In addition, Rp41.7 trillion is used for the General Allocation Fund (DAU) which aims to improve health services in the regions. Several other crucial programs also receive large allocations, including nutritious food programs for pregnant women and toddlers (Rp24.7 trillion), operational assistance for community health centers and health centers (Rp16.3 trillion), and health services for ASN (State Civil Apparatus), TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces), and Polri (Indonesian National Police) (Rp13.3 trillion).
The government also prioritizes equitable access and HR development. To address service gaps, Rp30 trillion has been prepared for the construction and rehabilitation of health facilities in remote areas. In addition, Rp15 trillion is invested in scholarship and training programs for health workers. The remaining budget is also allocated for vaccinations (Rp8.7 trillion), TB screening (Rp2 trillion), and modernization of the health system.
Through the utilization of this detailed budget, the government is striving to create a strong, equitable, and modern health system.
